Introduction
Media House has advised tie Limited across a range of strategic communications since 2004. Originally handling all communications for the Edinburgh Airport ( EARL) project, Media House was asked in 2006 to implement a Hearts & Minds campaign for the Edinburgh Tram Project. Media House continues to advise tie on this project.
Objectives
Media House’s original brief was to plan and implement a communications strategy for the EARL project to prepare it for the Parliamentary scrutiny and then to see the Bill successfully through Holyrood. This comprised media relations, public affairs activity, stakeholder management, marketing, public consultation, website design and management.
Media House was then asked to advise on the Edinburgh tram project, devising a Hearts & Minds campaign to ensure the scheme’s approval by City of Edinburgh Council and to improve the public’s knowledge of and enthusiasm for the project as it moved through final approvals and into the construction phase. This also included media relations, public affairs and stakeholder management elements.
Results
The EARL Bill was approved by the Parliament in Spring 2007, with tie being commended by the Parliament for its approach to communications and its consultation.
The Tram scheme is currently being built on the streets of Edinburgh, having been wholeheartedly approved by the City of Edinburgh Councillors. tie Limited, with the aid of the Edinburgh business community, also demonstrated its worth and that the tram project was fit for purpose to the new SNP administration whe nthe scheme was threatened with cancellation.
Testimony
“Media House is a trusted adviser and has proved invaluable in delivering strategic communications advice and insight across all of tie’s activities.”
