Designers Saturday Steelcase is celebrating the return of Designer's Saturday after an absence of 20 years. Eleven of the most highly recognised office designers will be opening their showrooms by showcasing the latest in design and innovation on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th September. Visit Steelcase’s WorkLife Centre for two days of millennial madness offering a glimpse into the values, needs and workplace desires of the Millennial’s. Born between 1981 and 1999, Millennials are the newest entrants into the workplace. Steelcase has teamed up with leading studio Pearson Lloyd to transform the WorkLife into a modern day ‘festival of the future’ that will showcase examples of the work conditions desired by this group, such as fun, open and collaborative settings that inspire face-to-face communication. The unique showroom will see a series of inflatable tents housing interactive future work concepts, including Steelcase’s sensational WalkStation, where you can walk and check your emails and – for the first time in the UK – the revolutionary Instant Meeting table. Designers Saturday is an event for everyone so on the Friday evening, Steelcase will be hosting a Festival party with grassed over areas, festival themed food and drink and DJ while on Saturday visitors of all ages are invited to enjoy activities such as storytelling for the under 10’s, henna tattoos for the over 10’s and an all-day smoothie bar. There is also the opportunity to get involved in ‘living history’ projects where you can draw your ideal working environment and take part in a unique vox pops initiative.
