Steelcase UK enjoys 'best growth' in years Steelcase UK is proud to announce that a series of major contract wins over the last 12 months have been the foundation for the company’s best period of growth in many years. Contracts in excess of £1 million each were secured with a number of blue-chip clients including Chevron, PWC, the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, and international legal practice, Allen and Overy. Steelcase UK’s turnover for the last year rose by 10% to above £40 million. Steelcase UK is also to benefit from a multi-million pound investment in the UK from Steelcase, Inc., its US-based parent company. Mark Spragg, managing director of Steelcase UK, says: “Our performance in the UK over the last year has meant that we have enjoyed the best period of growth and profitability for many years. “The contracts we have secured have been significant both in scale and in scope and demonstrate the complete range of services we are able to offer customers. It has been tremendously encouraging to see such commitment from customers who, quite rightly, are looking for the best both in product and service.” During the last year, Steelcase UK also reshaped its business, creating Steelcase Solutions, a new integrated office interiors business offering a complete range of product, design, planning and project management services. Steelcase UK is also opening a new UK headquarters in London in November, details of which are announced below. Mark Spragg adds: “The improvement in performance over the last year can best be described as dramatic and was regarded as outstanding by our colleagues at Steelcase worldwide. This performance and the commitment to invest heavily in the UK, provides us with a very solid and stable platform which we are looking forward to building on. There is no question that we are operating in a fiercely competitive environment but our track record in terms of delivering quality products and services will serve us well in the future.” |
