International Design Forum Award for B Free Lounge

Steelcase's B Free Lounge has been recognised, not once, but twice in consecutive months for its unique design and innovation. Most recently, B Free picked up the coveted iF award from the International Design Forum, having already scooped the Innovation prize from, architectural magazine, AIT at Orgatec last year.

B Free Lounge Since its inauguration in 1953, the annual iF Design Awards, supervised by the International Design Forum (iF) in Hannover, Germany, has existed as an enduring, prestigious trademark for outstanding design. It is regarded as one of the most important design competitions worldwide, attracting over 1,800 entries from 30 countries each year.

An iF Award is a symbol of a company's commitment to innovation and its willingness to face the competition. Awards are offered in 5 categories, and Steelcase joins globally renowned companies such as Philips, Apple, and Sony, as a winner in the Product Design sector.

Mark Spragg, Managing Director of Steelcase UK said: "It is excellent for the B Free Lounge to be recognised in countries around the world as a genuinely innovative and class leading design. The iF Award is a prestigious accolade which highlights how exceptional the design is. This is a truly fantastic achievement, and we are especially proud as it is the third time we have received this award and comes just a month after the range also received the AIT Innovation Award."

The B Free Lounge range received the AIT Innovation Prize at the Orgatec Trade Fair, Cologne, Germany. A distinguished jury of architects awarded the range the Innovation Prize for high architectural design quality, convincing design and technological skill. The award was presented in association with leading architectural magazine AIT, which provides information on the current goings-on in the building and construction industry and interior design.
