Richard Bailey
Senior Consultant
Senior Consultant Richard Bailey, most recently in the spotlight for his work setting up the media arrangements for the on-going Diana Inquest, has joined Media House to head up and develop its London office.
Richard brings an impressive skill set developed over nearly 15 years, with exceptional specialist experience in public affairs, political relations, crisis management and planning and development issues. He has handled high profile and controversial issues, and advised Judges, Generals, Government Ministers, landowners and developers. Richard cut his teeth as an Army press officer in Northern Ireland and Kosovo. He was then immediately recruited by the Scottish Executive to plan and manage the media handling for the Lockerbie Trial in The Netherlands. After a brief spell as a media manager at Conservative Central Office during the 2001 General Election campaign, and a year with the Country Land and Business Association during the post Foot and Mouth rural revival campaign, he returned to Government press relations at the then Lord Chancellor’s Department (now Ministry of Justice), where he handled Ministerial press relations, strategic communications planning in liaison with Number 10, and mass media handling for the Hutton Inquiry and Soham Trial.
Richard spent a short time with the Good Relations’ planning and development team before setting up his own consultancy, Countryside Communications, two years ago, which specialised in rural planning and development and which he has taken with him into Media House.
